Stumbling upon a gated community
While out riding my bike in Beijing I came across this now-unused back entrance to an affluent gated community. The guardhouse was abandoned and the entrance to the bridge was locked. I didn't linger long due to the presence of a security camera on the outer fence.

OH that looks like lots of fun.
That’s some boat handling skill right there. And those signature hand signals! 👍
100lbs lady at the wheel???? No thanks. Im not even kidding yall.
You didn’t see any skill here? Now I know. Sexism can actually make a guy blind. You make a boat spin like that?? Ain’t gonna happen.
You didn’t see any skill here? Now I know. Sexism can actually make a man blind. Can you spin a boat that heavy that fine? Oh…Right. You didn’t see that part. You were too busy eyeing the skipper.
Scary...I remember the powerboat accident on the potomac river.....
Yeah. No Aussie sheila at the wheel. Sad.
Leuk....behalve als je net naar de kapper bent gegaan

Fengyuan is now a district of Taichung City.
I know. I was living there in late 2010 when the city and county merged.
Brazilian?

Hello there! :) I'm going to teach in a school in Fengyuan for a while and am looking for some tips about what to do there in my free time. Hope anyone can help.
+mastermacki Hope it won't be TLC...Not much to do in Fengyuan itself. The downtown area is small. There is a small street called Miaodong that is filled with food stands (you can see it in the video), but not much else. Most Westerners who live in Fengyuan spend their free time in central Taichung, where there are more clubs, restaurants and stores. There are some hiking trails in the hills above Fengyuan Park. There are also some cycling trails going to Houli and Dongshi which can get very crowded on weekends, but are pretty nice on weekdays. All express trains stop at Fengyuan Station, so it's easy to reach other places in Taiwan.
+taiwan1895 Thanks for the reply and the tipps! What's TLC though?
+mastermacki It's a language school in downtown Fengyuan that is a nightmare to work at. Sounds like you won't be working there, so that's good. Enjoy your time in Taiwan!
Kites are tethered, don't move and don't disappear. Did this object move or disappear? If it moved what was the flight pattern like? Also, did you notice any loss of time during the event?
This thing didn't move and didn't disappear, suggesting it was tethered and therefore most likely a balloon or a kite. And I didn't notice any loss of time, either - I started watching the object around 20:15 Beijing time in the courtyard of the inn where I was staying, and went to my room around 21:05, and the time on the clock in the room was the same as that on both my watch and my phone. I did feel a strange sensation later in my anal region, however. No doubt caused by alien probes...or perhaps the bowl of spicy noodles I had earlier that evening :-)
Found this video at random; you drove past the building I lived in from 2007 to 2012! Thanks for posting; brings back such memories!
from the train station to ...
李峻禎 But also down Zhenxing Road and the red building that I lived in!
I really miss Taiwan,.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY
@theaesthetics Well, it was only around 4pm when we strolled through.
Wow, the sales folks outnumber the customers 3 to 1!
@Xozona Thanks! Or should I say 謝謝? :-)
I love watching videos depicted walkthroughs of Asian cities. This is by far the best one I've seen yet!
@theaesthetics You must have some Taiwanese blood in you!
Wow, that's pretty darn beautiful! I'd pitch a shack right there and rent out jet skis!
Enclosed, air conditioned Ferris wheels... The future is a scary place! :)
@taiwan1895 Ah, makes more sense :)
@theaesthetics Those ovens are for burning paper money. Chinese/Taiwanese believe that the dead need cash in the next world, and so they burn copious amounts of "ghost" money.
Everything looks so peaceful from up there!
Another modest drummer!! :)
I remember when they were called Shields and Yarnell!
I'll try and get some footage of some Taoist temples that incorporate neon lights and signs into their designs.
